About me and my practice

You may be feeling out of sorts but unsure why. You may have a specific issue such as bereavement, anger, life transition, anxiety, low mood, etc. Maybe you would like to feel less stressed and happier with your life? Let go of overthinking, perfectionism or people pleasing? Be more confident in your decisions? Improve your relationships? Work through negative baggage that is holding you back? Develop different ways of coping? Manage your work-life balance Start to value yourself more? Learn ways to manage your anger better? If you can relate to any of the above, I can help you to work through these challenges.

I'm here to be work with you to overcome any issues you may have and will be supportive, honest and kind. I will listen with empathy and without judgement. The service I offer is bespoke to you as "one size does not fit all!". I am experienced in working with adolescents and adults, many struggling with difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
It would be a privilege to work with you and explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions that make you unique. I don't office advice but will help you find your own solutions and work with you and for you to gain an insight. I will listen to you without judgement or discrimination.

I'm a friendly, positive therapist who listens without judging, challenges without offending and believes that every one can have the opportunities to make productive changes within their lives.

Experience

I have worked with many teenagers privately and within school/college settings. I have helped them work through anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts and self-harm as well as many other issues.

I have been volunteering for a local bereavement charity as a bereavement counsellor over 6 years and also have my private practice based at home which offers a warm and safe space for teenagers and adults.

Previous work experience include roles that empower and support people in stressful times. I offer face to face counselling as well as telephone and online. I see children and young people (secondary school aged upwards) and adults.

Qualifications

I have a degree in psychology and also have qualifications in Level 3-5 in Therapeutic Counselling.

In addition, I am qualified in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and also Solution Focussed Therapy.

I also undertake many additional courses in my continual professional development.

Initial Consultation

A free 15 minute initial consultation is useful as it provides an opportunity to find out whether your needs, interests and goals fit with my skillset. This stage also provides the initial clarification about the limits of confidentiality, therapeutic approach, and other terms of professional services.

Fees

£60 per session
Concessionary fee available for trainee counsellors

When I Work

I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-7pm.
